It's a Mooomoooo

My Mom and I fought over this little MoooMooo on boxing day.  It was the only one left and 50% off.  I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be in the pajama section but bought it anyways and the styling ideas started flowing.

I added the vest to keep it a little less springy.  The belt to add a little shape.  All in all, I think it looks good. I am LOVING my fold over boots.  They KILLED my feet the first time I wore them but today before leaving I asked them nicely to break in already.  They agreed!!

Its come down to this....

As much as I love taking 20 different pictures of my outfits and sifting through(I Kid) I have decided until I save me pretty pennies for a new camera and tripod, I will probably just do infront of the mirror shots.  Why you ask, I am not a fan of how they turn out infront of my green wall.  We have just moved some furniture into that room and it makes if very tricky to get whole outfit pics.  I apologize but know you'll understand.  I also think the mirror ones are a little clearer of what I am actually wearing.  Not so far away.
It may be awhile before I actually get a new camera (I have a wedding coming up and allllll mooola will go to that)for now I hope these will do.
I also keep up with this blog for myself.  To see what I have worn daily, what keeps reappearing and so I don't double up on outfits. These pics, I like  better!

Thanks for understanding!(that's if you really care :) )

Oh great.....

I was listening to the song I plan on walking down the isle to....and I got teary eyed. How the heck am I going to hold it together when I actually do walk down the isle? Ugh  If you're married, did you keep it together while walking towards the love of your life?

I feel like I am getting sick of my wardrobe :( But I have a plan. I am going to start and mix and match things that may not work together. Dig into that closet in the other room and see what I can find. Wish me luck! (or don't point and make fun if I look ridiculous..k, thanks!
My outfit is all random pieces.  Nothing thrifted :(

Unplugged

If you haven't noticed, I haven't posted in a few days. I went on a mini winter vacation with a bunch of amazing friends. We did a little snowboarding, hot-tubing and some tubing(flying down the mountain on a plastic tube) Grrrreattttt weekend.
I didn't really wear much except Lulu's and comfys so it feels good to dress up a little.

Remember when it wasn't cool to tuck your shirt in? Is it cool now, lol? Cause I do it alllll the time. I think it adds a little sophistication to an outfit and a little more structure. What do you think?

Joe Fresh sweater, Thrifted Banana Republic Blouse, Random Tanks & Thrifted Fidelity,high-waisted wide-leg trouser Jeans (now that was a mouth full)
I have put myself on a shopping ban until February 7th.  My favourite thrift store is having 50% off.  Wooohooooo!

I resemble an 80's mom

But I love it!

I scored these pants from GoJane with a 30% off code.  I got them in a medium but for sure wish they had a small. They are probably one of the most comfortable pants I've worn.  Highwaisted, breathy and loose.  I call them my Mom pants, they have pleats at the front and a cuffed hem.....so 80' Mom, power suit and pointy heels.

Blue with Blue

I have decided to start saving for a new camera. I looove my point and shoot for everyday candid pictures but today while leaving work, the moon looked soooo amazing. I wish I could have captured it somehow. Not with a point and shoot :(

Any readers have any tips on an inexpensive (yeah right) beginners camera? Mostly for outfit pics but also outdoor shots. If so, lemme know...k thanks!

Can you see it, can you see it? I barely can either. The blue on my shirt is identical to the blue on my boots. Funny that, eh!

Thanks Mom!

I was at my Moms place the other day. Looking at her new purchases (she shops more than me, I swear) and came across this dress (worn as a skirt today)I told her I had to have it and there was no way it was going to look good on her. I was completely joking and she knew it (I am not the only on that does that, right!?!?) She gladly gave it to me!

I have been seeing a lot of bloggers wearing dresses as skirt, most recently Ramsey .  What a great idea to get more for you money (or from free clothing from your Mother!)

Someone wanted to say Hi today.  His name is Brady (after Tom Brady of the New England Patriots...who lost yesterday) *sad face*

Double Trouble

I'm super sleepy
I didn't post yesterday so you get double today.
I cannot even begin to express how unbelievably excited I am for the next year.
I also cannot even begin to describe how in love I am with my fiance.
I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Extendadrobe!

Extendadrobe: Extending your wardrobe Via your fiance's.

That is what I did today.  I can't even explain how comfy some of my fiance's shirts are.  This one is from Abercrombie and I bought it for him about 2 years ago.  I am pretty sure I wear it more than he does.

Like the new boots?  They are almost more comfy than my CSUH ones.  They have a little more give in the material so when sitting and walking they actually bend a little more.  I added some kneehighs to break up the black a little (I tend to do that often, have you noticed?)

Can we talk about seat belts for a second.  They are life saving for sure but jeeeezzzzz.  Look at what it has done to the bottom of my sweater.  I need a purse size steamer to follow me all day.

Professional Shopper!

A majority of my shopping (besides thrift) I do online.  Some companies have insane international rates, some don't even ship to Canada and others just have the item I am looking for cheaper (Remember this?)
I found a sneaky way to avoid all of the above.  I live 10 minutes from the US border.  There is a company there that will accept packages on your behalf (for a very small fee of $4)  It's pretty fantastic.  (I tell them everytime)  This means that I have to cross the border each time.  I swear, every time I get a male border guard.  They do the usual and ask where I am going, how long I will be and what am I crossing for.  I guess they can see when the last time I made the trip across (December 24th to be exact) and the US guy says "Again?" I say "Yup" and he looks at me with a straight face and lets me go in.

On the way back from picking up my recent purchases (see below) I get another male Canadian border guard.  He asks the usual, where did you go, how long were you gone, what did you get?  I tell him, with a smile on my face "2 pairs of boots and a pair of pants" he asks "and how much in total" I say "$70" he says "Really, for all that?" and I say, with a smile on my face "Yup, I am a professional shopper!" with a laugh.  I have yet to see a smile from any of the border guards ever...until today! It was cute...although he probably thought I was crazy...or that he hears that from his wife on a daily basis.

Really, when you think about it...I should be a professional shopper.  My friends would say I should! :)

Check out the new boots I got!  Since the black, Carlos Santana Unity Highway (CSUH) ones are sold out, I opted for the these ones from GoJane.  They are very similar in quality and I would say fit the same way, although the calf is much wider than my CSUH ones.  I snagged them for $28 (they email codes weekly)  The blue zipper is more vibrant than the CSUH ones but I figured the price made up for it.  Stay tuned for upcoming outfits with these suckers.
If you like the GoJane ones, be careful you are buying the ones that I have linked.  There is a VERY similar pair on their site but it has a fake zipper and is just a pull on.  Not as cute as the zippered pair IMO

These are also from GoJane.  It's a foldover heel.  They kinda look beaten up in this picture but it's just how my camera took the picture.  The quality is good and the faux suede is a deep black (not faded as the picture shows)  The calfs are wide enough to tuck in jeans with some room.  Again, stay tuned for upcoming outfits.

Todays outfit was inspired by This post by Honeybee she's right, you really can't go wrong with a blazer, jeans(mine are actually cropped but you can't tell) and a knee-high boots!  Comfy yet classic.

Until next time!

Throw back to 2000 and 2004---ish

I have had this sleeveless turtle neck since 2000-ish and the jean skirt since 2004-ish.  I couldn't part with either, even after years of closet purges.  I also haven't worn either of them since the years I got them.  As I was standing infront of my closet last night (oh yes, day 2 of picking my outfit the night before) I tried to think of something different I could wear.  This came to mind.  It's very safari so I thought I would add this Elephant bracelet I found at a thrift shop...cute, right!!
I am also really digging kneehigh socks.  So be ready to see them on a weekly basis....different colours of course!
Do you have anything in your closet that you have had for YEARS???
